How can I better organize my programming club?

having such a large group of people working on *a* software application is probably not a good idea. having a group of 3-4 highly competent programmers is good for developing large programs. if you're getting together just for the sake of programming, then why not just program together? it can be pretty fun to be in a group of people. i reckon you can learn (i ume this is for the sake of improving programming skill) easily by becoming interested in what other people are working on, and contributing ideas to it. the advantage of this is that nobody really feels forced to use a specific language or write a specific program - they only work on things that interest them.

Am I justified to ask for boiler replacement?

I'm not happy with the boiler in my council flat. It takes around 30-45 minutes to heat water for a bath. If use one kitchen sink worth of water to wash dishes and try use remainder for a bath an hour later then the water will be cold. I'm guessing this is because the boiler fills back up with cooler water!? There's no time controls on it either so I have to manually switch it on 30-45 minutes before I need hot water. This is very inefficient and inconvenient however with councils is this more than they are required to offer?

I am kinda in the same situation as you. We are moving into our first flat next sat (we cant get on the property ladder yet coz of all the mess with mortgage stuff) we have got all our stuff, kettle/iron etc from tesco/asda lol were taking my bed our computer/xbox etc. Were going for a black and white theme too. Black and white towels in the bathroom, and black and white plates and cups in the kitchen, stainless steel toaster and stuff. It depends how much money he wants to spend, theres Ikea, they have funky stuff. Online is also great. Have a shop around. Normally you can only buy a few bits in one shop, then have to try and match everything from another shop. But Id say online, argos/ikea. Dont forget to ring bank/docs etc to tell them his new address and phone number ESPECIALLY THE BANK! We have 2 bedrooms in our flat and were using the second one as a gym/study. Were so used to everthing being in one room at home, there'll be alot more space. Keep everything to a minimum and no clutter! It will make the house feel and look more modern and spacious! hope that helped in some way lol! x

I had this same problem on my 1994 Pontiac Bonneville. It sounds like a horrible scraping sound that shouldn't be there. Sometimes this can be caused because it has not been in use for a while, or if it has just recently rained. Mine kept doing it continually even if it didn't rain or I just used it recently, so I took it into the dealership my dad works at. It turns out that my brakes had some problems. So really it could be either of these things. My guess is that it is just because it has been sitting for a while. I'd say drive it, and see if the should gets any better, if it doesn't, take it in to see what is wrong. Hope this helps!

I live in a manufacturing community hit hard by job loss and the recession. Our school levy was defeated three times and the fourth was a tie which results in a loss. Some of us knew that there was going to be something pulled by the influential businesses, people of the community, and the school board to effect a change in the outcome. And sure enough after the votes had been counted and recounted and certified as a tie which means a loss, and this was already put in the local paper and media as such. While a staff member(unnamed) just happened to be sorting through paperwork(after the vote was finalized and reconciled) a magical yes vote appeared and now they are making it official again but this time it ped. I personally don't care about the levy ping or being defeated, it is the invalidation of the democratic electoral process that pisses me off. America is supposed to be a democracy in which the will of the people govern, but by cheating the electoral process it invalidates our whole system of government. Why should anyone vote if the outcome can be changed by influential or wealthy individuals? I can only hope that the individuals responsible for this illegal and immoral act are held accountable both financially and criminally.

Should I disable Defense+ on Comodo Firewall?

The Network Defense protects as a normal firewall does, but I feel that the Defense+ portion has way too many alerts when I do just about anything. As I've used it, the alerts have steadily decreased but its still annoying. Also it has auto blocked things from good programs like Avira, Super Antispyware and Malwarebytes. Is it blocking functions of these programs which it shouldn't be? Also how do I prevent it from ever blocking good processes like these antivirus/malware? And is Defense+ a very important part of the firewall, or is the traditional part of the firewall (Network Defense) enough? Also is there a way to prevent it from popping up so often and randomly blocking stuff?

My laptop will play DVD's, but not Blu Rays. Help?

I have a Dell Studio 15 laptop running Windows 7 with a BD-Rom drive. It used to play both DVD's & Blu Rays, but will no longer play the Blu Rays. DVD's still work fine. I've uninstalled the device drivers and reinstalled, but it still doesn't work. "My Computer" still shows it as a BD-Rom drive and it recognizes that the movie is there, but it just won't play it. It gets to the loading screen but never goes any farther. I've tried to update Cyberlink PowerDVD, but it says that it is current. I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?

About 3 years ago i started complaining about my heart beating funny and little pains in my heart once in a while. My Dr would put me on an EKG machine for a few minutes and say there is nothing wrong. after a year of this my Dr sent me to a heart Dr where a buch of tests were run and that is where it was found. I was told it would never do anthing and to not worry. Three years latter the pains have become a lot stronger, in fact some times it is a bit scary. My shoulder and my back by my shoulder blade will hurt. But i ignore it because i was told it will never do anything. About a month a go i had a problem where i was diagnosed with a TIA. However, all the tests came back normal. I brought up the Atrial Septal Aneurysm that is suppose to not do anything and i was put on a heart monitor for 21 days. After which the stoke Dr only looked at the results of what the heart Dr said which was it will never do anthing. I said to the Dr that i have pain is that that anthing t worry about? I was told that an Atrial Septal Aneurysm does not cause problems and does not cause pain. I was told to take some ant-acids. I think that i know the difference between heartburn and a pain that is not right. But aparently i don't.

Sounds like you did your homework and are satisfied. I did the same thing and am impressed with my team of doctors. I wasn't thrilled with my chemo team, but that's over now and the radiation oncologist and the team is outstanding. Having a good team of doctors is one of the most important aspects of treatment. I would also recommend a cancer support group - I go weekly and that has helped me out tremendously. I don't know if Swedish offers that, (they probably do) but the other local hospitals do (Providence, Overlake). For me, personally, it's been really helpful to meet and talk to other women and men who have fought and won their cancer battle, or who are in the midst of it like myself. Best of luck to you.

I had my first abnormal pap last month.?

They told me I had low-grade dysplasia. I went in for my colposcopy and biopsy today. During the colposcopy, they found no abnormal cells, even with the vinegar and iodine, so they didn't do the biopsy and sent me home with me promising to come back in 6 months for a follow-up pap. I'm VERY relieved; however, I'm wondering what the chances are of this clearing up on its own. If they saw no abnormal cells without the biopsy, is it safe to say I'm ok?

What are the tecnical differences between P.C (windows) and Apple (Mac)?

The only difference between them is the Operating System (OS). Mac uses a Linux based system (i believe) and Windows uses something completely different. Mac OS is a bit more secure in its creation whereas Microsoft left a lot of holes in their programming. That isn't to say that Macs can't get viruses though. Also, Windows based PC's cannot run Mac OSX....something about the configuration, you'll have to research that....but Macs are able to run Windows through Bootcamp or another program of the like.

Why do new military recruits take the Oath of Enlistment to get into the DEP if they can quit at any time?

From what I understand, recruits in the DEP (Delayed Enlistment/Entry Program) can quit at any time and get out of the DEP before they are shipped off to their IADT (Initial Active Duty Training) whether it is basic training or boot camp or whatever. So why do they have new recruits take the Oath of Enlistment and then the recruiters will tell them they are bound by contract since they signed and took an oath, but they can still back out of it. Why don't they make them sign or take the oath the day before they ship off to training or something like that? Seems weird. Does anyone know why it's set up like this or why?

Can a judge quash a summons from another district in the same state?

I am in the process of filing a motion to vacate a default judgement based on improper service. They sent the summons to some other place in a different district and the default was issued in that district. In the mean time a supplemental summons to appear at a debtor examination hearing was issued by the district court in the district that I actually live. My question is can the Judge of court number one quash the summons issued from court number two? And may I ask him to do so in my motion to vacate?

Quick question about symptoms?

I'm sure its nothing serious, probably allergies, but I have weird symptoms of a small cold that doesn't quite go away. I have a weird, scratchy throat that doesn't really go away. It doesn't hurt, just kinda bothers when its dry. And likewise I wake up with dark mucous that I can spit out. I'm guessing its allergies, as its that time of year, but I can't tell. I've had two nasty Sinus infections in the last two months, but recently its just these two symptoms, scratchiness and morning mucous. Any Idea? Allergies?

Made a deposit two checks only one showed on deposit slip. Teller said I added wrong?

Went through in a hurry this morning has two checks one for 1000$ and one for $350 with $150 back. She said I had added wrong and was changing the deposit slip eight fifty. So I'm going to study in Cuzco Peru over winter break and I'm only finding plains to Peru for a couple grand. I found a plane ticket to Barranquilla, Colombia for 79.80 including taxes and I can't imagine that a bus or train would cost more then a grand to go form Barranquilla, Colombia to Cuzco Peru.
