synthesis--- that mean your making something, like in biology it used to refer to making a molecule like synthesizing glucose, etc. here's a tip. Okay this is how I remembered it: Prophase, the cell is (P)reparing itself to divide for replication, Anaphase, the cell is beginning to pull (A)part, Metaphase, the chromosomes align themselves down the (M)iddle, and for Telophase, the cell burrows and you have (T)wo separate cells.
