Nose bleeds after and before my period?

Is it normal for my nose to bleed before and after my period??? Its happening lots of times lately and during skool while im testing. But it dosn't bleed that much. Just when i exhale my nose squirts blood all of a sudden. If its normal, why do i keep doing this??? My mom says its hereditary because my cousins nose bleeds but hes a boy. And my friend told me that same thing happened to her mom so her mom donated blood. Idk. Idk why its happening.
