Will this laptop handle everything i need it to?

you should be fine, but its not ideal for games. a dedicated graphics card is realy a requirement to play most games, and you cannot upgrade the graphics on a laptop, so if you can, try to find a laptop with a dedicated graphics card, but if you cant, you probibly will still be able to play the games just fine.
